NABIP Ohio PAC – An integral part of NABIP Ohio Chapter’s State Legislative efforts to advocate for the role of the agent in preserving customer choice in Ohio’s health insurance market.

Calling all members - we are offering a challenge to generate funds for the Ohio PAC and help your local chapter at the same time!

In this election year, we hear that "every vote counts" and that is true.  For the Ohio NABIP PAC, every dollar counts in our efforts to affect change here in Ohio.  You can help by supporting your Ohio NABIP PAC.

All local chapters will get 2 points for each current local member who has contributed at least $10.00 to the Ohio PAC since January 1, 2024 until March 16, 2024.  For new contributors during the contest period giving a minimum of $10, 1 additional point will be added.  For new monthly Ohio NABIP PAC contributors with a minimum of $25 per month, the local will earn 2 points. Contest ends May 31, 2024.

For the local chapter who gets the most points by the end of the contest period, the winning chapter will receive an additional $500 in their Ohio Legislative Event allocation for 2024.  All funds must be used by December 31, 2024.

For fund raising ideas, please reach out to Debbie Boop, your Ohio NABIP PAC Chair, or Bill Barrett, Ohio NABIP President.  Thank you for your support!

For many years, the NABIP Ohio has been the voice of Ohio’s insurance agents who specialize in the sale and servicing of health insurance products. NABIP Ohio members are advocates for preserving free-market healthcare for individuals and families, many of which receive their health insurance through their employer.

A key ingredient in representing NABIP Ohio members is to have a successful Political Action Committee (PAC) that is an active participant in the election of State Senators and Representatives who support the role of health insurance agents and the families and businesses they serve.

With this as a background, please consider contributing to NABIP Ohio PAC today.

Contributing to our NABIP Ohio PAC helps to support the work we all do for our clients and our community.  You can contribute any amount and we encourage you to become a Capitol Club member by contributing at least $25 automatically each month or an annual donation of $300.  By becoming a Capital Club member, you become one of our elite donors and will receive recognition annually during our events.  Thank you supporting your NABIP Ohio PAC.

What is NABIP PAC?
The National Association of Benefits and Insurance Professionals Political Action Committee (NABIP PAC) is the political advocacy arm of NABIP. Since NABIP and similar organizations are prohibited by law from making political contributions, NABIP PAC was created to allow contributors to combine their financial support to candidates who support our industry.

How does NABIP PAC operate?
NABIP PAC has a Board of Trustees that is made up of NABIP members appointed by the NABIP President in consultation with the NABIP Board of Trustees. The NABIP PAC Board has the final say in all financial decisions, including to whom we give political contributions and where we spend administrative funds for operational functions. The NABIP PAC Board meets once a month over teleconference. The board discusses fundraising strategies and political contributions, and reviews financial statements along with other essential matters that pertain to NABIP PAC.

How does NABIP PAC decide who to give to?
In consultation with Government Affairs staff, the NABIP PAC Board approves a two-year candidate fund budget that is amended throughout the year as needed. The Board takes into consideration different criteria, including what committees members of Congress sit on, co-sponsorship of legislation, NABIP member relationships with a member of Congress, and whether the member of Congress is in a leadership position. These are just a few of the criteria that are taken into consideration. As a member, you can always contact your regional vice president if you have any input or questions on who NABIP PAC gives to.
